It started with a brilliant move requiring a precise follow up: 6.Nxe5!! Bxd1 7.Bxf7+ Ke7 8.Bxg8 dxe5 8...Qb8 9.Bg5+ Ke8 10.Bf7# 9.Bg5+ Ke8 10.Bxd8 Rxd8 11.Bb3 Bh5 12.Nd2! with a pawn up and a technical win. The natural 12. Nc3 would allow a pin and a breaking up of the pawn structure—giving drawing chances.
