(UPI) Michigan authorities responding to a pond where a horse had fallen through the ice ended up conducting a double rescue when a deputy fell through.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Office posted a video to Facebook showing the rescue that ensued about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday when deputies responded to a Ray Township residence where a horse had fallen through the ice of a frozen pond.

The video shows deputies and members of the Ray Township Fire Department working to break up the ice and guide the horse to shore.

"During the rescue, a deputy fell through the ice trying to attach a rope to the horse's bridle," the post said. He was quickly pulled from the pond and continued to help the horse. The owners were grateful and horse was checked out by its veterinarian. Both the horse and the deputy were uninjured.
