MONTREAL -- Hat tricks in Montreal are becoming a thing for the Blues. Last season, Patrik Berglund scored three times on Feb. 11 at Bell Centre. On Tuesday it was Brayden Schenn who scored three times, giving him 13 goals for the season and giving the Blues a 4-3 victory over the Canadiens.
It was the third career hat trick for Schenn and his first with the Blues, who ended a three-game winless streak and improved to 18-8-2 on the season. Schenn had gone five games without a point prior to Tuesday's contest.
Montreal's Shea Weber's second goal of the game tied the scored at 3 at the 6:34 mark of the third period with his second goal of the night and sixth of the season.
Schenn's goals came at the 5:00 mark of the first period, 2:39 mark of the second period and at the 12:11 mark of the third period. Scottie Upshall also scored for the Blues, seven seconds before Schenn's second goal.
Jordie Benn scored a first-period goal for the Canadiens, while Weber converted his first goal at the 17:04 mark of the second period.
