CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Warriors (19-6) have listed Stephen Curry as doubtful for Wednesday's game against the Charlotte Hornets (9-13) after spraining his right ankle, in what marks a strong likelihood the Warriors' star will not play before a hometown crowd.

Curry took an MRI on Tuesday afternoon, but it is not clear if the Warriors will have the results by the evening or on Wednesday. Curry twisted his right ankle after stepping on the shoe of Pelicans forward E'Twaun Moore while trying to force a turnover. Though his X-rays came out negative, Curry relied on crutches to get around the locker room and arena hallway while wearing a walking boot.

"It's more on the 'I won't bounce back tomorrow morning and waking up like I'm all right.' " Curry said on Monday night. "Just because of the swelling."

Meanwhile, the Warriors listed second-year guard/forward Patrick McCaw as questionable after suffering a nose contusion during Monday's in New Orleans. Though the Warriors listed center Zaza Pachulia as questionable after he missed Monday's game in New Orleans, he spent part of the team's off day in Charlotte working out. Because of Curry's expected absence, it appears likely the Warriors will recall guard Quinn Cook from their G-League affiliate in Santa Cruz.
