Kathleen Parker is one of America's most popular opinion columnists, addressing the country's mental health through her views on current national events. She began her column in the Orlando Sentinel in 1987, and it was picked up for syndication in 1995 -- it now appears in more than 350 newspapers. She received the H.L. Mencken Writing Award in 1993, and was named one of the country's top five columnists in 2004 and 2005 by The Week magazine.
In addition to writing her column, Parker also appears regularly on "The Chris Matthews Show" and is a member of USA Today's Board of Contributors. Her articles have also appeared in Time, Cosmopolitan, The Weekly Standard, Town & Country, and Fortune Small Business. She holds a master's in Spanish from Florida State University, and is writer in residence at the Buckley School of Public Speaking in Camden, S.C. Most recently, she has won the 2010 Pulitzer for Commentary.
