Celebrity Travel: Go away with Donzaleigh Abernathy

A: I had several speaking engagements that were canceled. I was expected to speak in New York and Alabama and to attend events in Georgia and Germany.

Q: What untapped destination should people know about?

A: Visiting our national parks. America is gorgeous! I have visited almost every state in America, except for Hawaii, Alaska, Oklahoma, Montana and North Dakota. As soon as we can travel, we want to go to see America again.

Q: What's the most important thing you've learned from your travels?

A: That one must travel and see the world! I regret that I haven’t traveled more. I look back and regret the travel journeys that I missed. I would love to travel again soon. My passport is always up to date. Life has taught me to always be ready to go.

Q: If you've ever gone away for the holidays, which was the best trip?

 

A: The best Christmas vacations were going as a family every year to Germany to visit my sister, day trips to Zurich, then taking the train and also driving to Paris to spend New Year’s Eve and a week in Paris! My parents gave us that family trip every year so that we could all be together as a family with my sister in Germany and experience different cultures.

Q: Do you speak any foreign languages?

A: I learned to speak conversational French during my high school foreign exchange program in France. I learned German from my annual visits there and listening to my sister and her family speak. I learned a little Italian while living with Italian housemates. I used to pick up languages easily, but don’t anymore.

Q: What are your five favorite cities?
