Celebrity Travel: Go Away With Misha Collins

By Jae-Ha Kim, Tribune Content Agency on

A. I tend to romanticize camping excursions, so a backpacking adventure or maybe a desert island somewhere.

Q. If you've ever gone away for the holidays, which was the best trip?

A. Last year we went down to Belize for the holidays with extended family. We got rained out a good part of the time, so we played a lot of board games. I don't know if it was the 'best', but it was definitely the 'most recent' holiday trip.

Q. What would be your dream trip?

A. A long, nomadic, spontaneous excursion meeting different people and exploring cultures and different ways of cooking with people all over the world, where we never return to the same place twice and go where our whims take us. And we'd probably sleep in a few yurts along the way in the Himalaya. We'd eat dumplings and drink yak butter tea. Mongolia and Laos would definitely be included. I'm hoping to go to Laos next year, in fact.

Q. What is your best vacation memory?

A. Sneaking across the border into Tibet in the back of a vegetable truck. Now that I think of it, maybe that's part of why I love vegetables as much as I do.
