Celebrity Travel: Go Away With Paris Hilton

By Jae-Ha Kim, Tribune Content Agency on

Paris Hilton has been famous all her life, thanks to her lineage (her great-grandfather is Conrad Hilton). These days, the 36-year-old socialite spends most of the year traveling for her business, Paris Hilton Entertainment, which includes her line of clothing, accessories and cosmetics. The latest addition to her line of fragrances is Rosé Rush. "I'm on a plane at least 200 days a year," says Hilton, who splits her time between homes in Los Angeles and New York. "There really is no place like home. I consider Los Angeles my main home and it's such a special and amazing place."

Fans may follow her adventures on Twitter (https://twitter.com/ParisHilton), Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ParisHiltonEntertainment) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/ParisHilton).

Q. What is your favorite vacation destination?

A. The Maldives. I just went to DJ at the opening of the new 1 OAK at the Finolhu Baa Atoll and we stayed at the Amilla Fushi Resort at the most beautiful villa on the beach. I can't wait to go back there! We are friends with the owner, Mark Hehir, and he made the stay so special. The service was incredible and it was like having our own beach house. It's such a beautiful hotel property. There is so much to do there. I love outdoor activities. I went scuba diving, snorkeling and swimming with turtles. The water is so clear, beautiful and blue. There are also lots of wonderful restaurants and, of course, it's always fun to dance at the 1 OAK club they have there.

Q. What was the first trip you took as a child? And did you love it, or not so much?

A. The first trip I took was to Maui. My family and I used to go there every single Christmas since I was a baby. I always loved it there. We would stay at the Four Seasons and I would always walk over next door to the Grand Wailea Resort to go on all the water slides. I still love going to Maui. It is such a beautiful island.

Q. Have you traveled to a place that stood out so much that you felt compelled to incorporate it into your work?

A. I've been going to Ibiza since I was a teenager. For the past five years, I have been a resident DJ at Amnesia, Ibiza. I am so inspired by the island and incorporate it into my DJ work. I love attending all of my friends' shows. It is really inspirational for me to be surrounded by all that energy and amazing music.

Q. Where are your favorite weekend getaways?

A. Las Vegas. I always have the best time there and it's very close. I also love going down to Palm Desert. We have some houses there, so it's a nice place to relax and attend Coachella. San Francisco. It's so much fun to go shopping there and to have lunch down by the Wharf. They have the best seafood, especially at this one place, Alioto's.
