Sunday brunch day: Cap off your winter weekends with comforting sourdough waffles

1/2 cup (125 mL) nonfat milk

8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1 cup (250 mL) all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

Nonstick cooking spray

Fruit Syrup (recipe follows)

In a large mixing bowl, combine the starter, milk, melted butter, and egg. Stir well.
