Gingerbread, gingerbread, gingerbread rocks! Especially when the cookies are homemade
One of our favorite ways to decorate cookies is with a glaze you can spread on with an icing spatula or the back of a spoon.
To make glaze: In a medium bowl, combine 1 1/3 cups (5 1/3 ounces) confectioners’ (powdered) sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon softened cream cheese, and 1 to 2 drops food coloring (if desired). Use a rubber spatula to stir until very smooth.
Glazing your cookies gives you a blank canvas for decorating. Just make sure to let the glaze dry completely, about 30 minutes, before serving.
