(UPI) Animal rescuers in Wales said they took custody of a fox cub found acting lethargic near the equipment at a gas station.

The RSPCA said animal collection officer Fiona Thomas was dispatched when the baby fox was seen wandering along at the Welcome Break service station at the Cardiff Gate Business Park in the capital.

Thomas said the cub appeared lethargic and was hiding behind an electrical equipment box.

The rescuer said the fox was underweight and was taken to a specialist facility for rehabilitation.

"We're so grateful to the member of the public who spotted the cub and alerted us to this wild animal's plight. We think he might've been an orphan," she said.
