Fisherman uses CPR to rescue drowning puppy

(UPI) A fisherman in Vietnam pulled a drowning puppy out of the water and saved it with several minutes of CPR when he found it was unresponsive.

The video, filmed in Binh Dai, Ben Tre, shows the man working to warm the baby dog and get its heart to restart after pulling it out of the cold water.

The man attempts to clear the puppy's airway, leading its tongue to roll out and make it appear as though the canine is dead.

Hope is restored, however, when a few more moments of intense rubbing causes the puppy to regain consciousness and begin breathing and wimpering.

"When I was fishing, I spotted [the puppy] drowning, then I rescued the dog and he's now recovered and is very healthy," the man wrote.
