Alligator walks up to Florida resident's door, eyes tasty-looking cat

(UPI) A Florida resident who heard a noise coming from their back yard found an alligator had approached their patio door and was staring down the cat inside.
The resident captured video Sunday when they investigated the knocking sound in the back yard and found the alligator waiting just outside the sliding glass door.
The video shows the gator in a staring contest with the resident's cat, who was safely on the other side of the door.
"I was watching TV and heard what I thought was a knock on the back door. Our 'neighbor' gator was sitting there looking at me and eyeballing my cat, who thought she was 'protecting' me. He sat there for about 5 minutes checking us out until he finally wandered back down to the pond," the resident wrote.
