(UPI) Police in Oklahoma helped rescue a feisty kitten from a tight spot after it decided to stowaway underneath the hood of a patrol car.

Purcell Police Department shared photos as officers peered into the engine of the car to search for the trapped kitten.

"Tuesday evening MPO Paulk and Ofc. VanOort discovered a kitten in the engine compartment of a patrol car," the department said.

The kitten wasn't particularly interested in giving up its hiding space and gave officers a fight before they managed to pull it free.

"After some effort and in spite of reluctance on the kitten's part it was rescued and is now in the care of Communications Officer Baer," police said.
