Man who put cat food on officials' property pleads guilty

BURLINGTON, N.J. (UPI) -- A New Jersey man accused of feeding feral cats on properties belonging to city officials pleaded guilty to littering charges.
Harry Heck, who was accused of putting out cat food on private properties belonging to Burlington City Councilwomen Jeanette Mercuri and Suzanne Woodard and resident Ralph Lollar, the husband of Council President Ila Marie Lollar, pleaded guilty to littering in Florence Municipal Court. He was ordered to pay a $250 fine and court fees, the Burlington County (N.J.) Times reported Tuesday.
Heck said he had been trying to make a point after urging council officials to do something about the feeding of feral cats in the city.
"I intended to show what the neighborhood was going through," Heck told Municipal Court Judge Richard Andronici.
Andronici described Heck's actions as "disgraceful," despicable and troubling to me.
