Water remains the drink of choice for most people, according to new data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which analyzed nonalcoholic beverage consumption between 2015 and 2018.

More than 51% of persons surveyed said they prefer water, followed, in order, by coffee, sweetened beverages, tea, fruit drinks, milk and diet beverages. Men were less likely to consume water or tea compared with women but more likely to drink coffee, sweetened beverages or fruit juices.

Water consumption decreased with age, while coffee, tea and milk consumption increased.
