Here's a way to begin incorporating more plant-based foods into your diet, even if you're a meat lover. Blend the two in these beef and black bean burgers, recipe adapted from Hy-Vee.

BEEF AND BLACK BEAN BURGERS

1 1/2 pounds ground beef (93% or leaner)

10 (2-ounce) whole-grain hamburger buns

1 (15-ounce) can no-salt-added black beans, rinsed and drained

1/4 cup tomato paste

1/4 cup finely chopped fresh cilantro leaves

1 or 2 fresh jalapeno peppers, minced

1 1/2 teaspoon cumin
