Loose pig in Texas captured with help from public, TV news crew

(UPI) A pig chase through a Texas city ended up involving members of the public, animal control officers and even a local TV news station.
The pig was first seen running loose along Deforrest Street in Corpus Christi on Sunday morning and two animal control officers gave pursuit, but the slippery swine eluded them.
The pig resurfaced Monday on nearby Alameda Street and Marissa and Jordan Fowler were able to keep the animal in the area by giving it some chicken feed they had in their car outside Incarnate Word Academy.
A pig-seeking crew from KIII-TV arrived on the scene and alerted animal control to the pot-bellied pig's presence.
The ensuing porcine pursuit involved responding animal control officers, the news crew and members of the public who stopped to help.
The snorting suspect eventually tired out from running and Animal Control Officer Araceli Salais was able to carry the pig back to her truck to cool off in the air conditioning.
Animal control officers said the female pig would be held at the sheriff's annex until she can be reunited with her owner or rehomed.
