(UPI) Customs officials in Texas said they seized nearly $13 million worth of meth concealed inside a shipment of frozen strawberries.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection said a 42-year-old Mexican citizen with a commercial shipment of frozen strawberries was referred for further inspection at the Pharr International Bridge.
Officers found the shipment contained 350 packages of methamphetamine weighing a total 906 pounds. The drugs were estimated to be worth $12.7 million on the street.
The driver was turned over to Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation, CBP said.
