(UPI) A runner broke a Guinness World Record by running a Wisconsin marathon while carrying 100 pounds of extra weight.

William Kocken was wearing a 100-pound pack when finished the Green Bay Cellcom marathon Sunday with a time of 6 hours and 27 minutes, beating the record set at a London Marathon last year by 20 minutes.

Kocken said his run was also aimed at raising money for the HOOAH Wisconsin, a charity that supports deployed service members and veterans.

Marathon organizers posted a photo to Instagram showing Kocken celebrating after crossing the finish line.

"It's insane right now, I'm on cloud nine. I don't even know what to say," Kocken told WLUK-TV after his record-breaking run.

He said he had to keep encouraging himself to push through the difficulty.

"I kept telling myself 17 months ago you said you were going to do this," Kocken said. Don't make yourself have to go to another marathon to get this record.

Kocken said he doesn't plan to run anymore marathons, at least for a while, but he might take aim at another Guinness World Record.

"I'm not sure what I'm going to do next, but I got a couple ideas I'm knocking around," he said.
