(UPI) A teenager on horseback took her mount onto a Maryland highway to help rescue a horse that fled from a 4-H show.

A video filmed last week on Maryland State Highway shows Caroline Shoults riding her horse, Tink, on the stretch of highway while chasing after a horse named Ice that fled from the Linthicum Hi-Riders Horse Show in Glen Burnie.

The filmer said Ice finally became tired after running about 3.5 miles and wandered onto the grass next to the roadway.

Shoults was able to use a lead rope halter to capture the exhausted equine, the filmer said.

The horses were brought back to the show on a trailer.
