(UPI) A Florida couple said they contacted health inspectors and the Waffle House corporate office after finding a dead frog in a glass of water.

Claire Sheats said she and her husband were drinking their waters while waiting for their food at a Waffle House in Tallahassee when the man looked down into his glass.

"In my husband's drink, there's a whole frog just floating around in the water," Sheats told WCTV.

Sheats said they did not stick around to eat.

"The waitress brought our drink over and my husband sipped on it before noticing the frog floating in the glass. We brought it to the attention of the employees and manager, then promptly left the restaurant," she wrote in a complaint to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The department sent health inspectors to the Waffle House location Nov. 9, four days after the incident, and noted multiple violations that were not considered a threat to the public.

The health inspectors' report does not mention the frog incident.

"You don't expect a frog. So, it was quite a surprise," Sheats said. My husband and I have always enjoyed Waffle House. But, being that that happened, it kind of puts a bad taste in your mouth.

Waffle House corporate spokesman Pat Warner said in a statement that the company is looking into the Sheats' experience.

"We are concerned about this claim and are currently investigating the circumstances Our corporate team is working with the local operators to determine the facts. Based on what our District Manager saw at the time and after reviewing the video, there are still some issues we are looking into. Serving quality food and delivering a quality experience are responsibilities we take seriously, and we will continue to review this matter."
