Big lizard captured at Florida golf course after weeks on the loose

(UPI) A 6-foot monitor lizard that escaped its owner's Florida home in mid-October was recaptured by its owner on a local golf course.
Kevin Hennings of Golden Gate Estates said Poseidon, a 5-year-old Asian water monitor lizard, escaped from his outdoor enclosure Oct. 14 and was on the loose until Sunday.
Hennings said he was at a food truck event in North Naples on Sunday when he received a call from an employee at the TwinEagles Golf and Country Club in Golden Gate Estates about a possible Poseidon sighting.
Hennings rushed to the golf course with some frozen chicken, which he used to coax his pet out of the course's lake.
He said a previous attempt to capture the monitor at the golf course went awry Nov. 1 when a crowd formed and spooked the reptile.
Hennings said Sunday's attempt was far more successful and Poseidon is now safe back at home.
"I don't think I've ever felt anything better" than being reunited with the pet, Hennings told the Naples Daily News. Probably the best feeling in the world.
He said Poseidon seems to have stayed healthy.
"Physically, he's 100 percent," he said. It doesn't look like he missed a meal.
