(UPI) An Indiana sheriff's deputy assisted with the rescue of a deer that slid under a parked pickup truck and got its antlers caught in the vehicle's undercarriage.

The Hendricks County Sheriff's Office said Deputy Jeff Hughes responded to a home where a resident reported a deer was stuck underneath their pickup truck.

"The deer had apparently run across the property and slid underneath the truck with his antlers becoming lodged in the undercarriage of the truck," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post, which included video of the rescue.

A neighbor brought a floor jack to the scene and lifted the front end of the truck, giving the deer room to maneuver under the deputy's coaxing.

"The deer was able to free himself and return safely to the woods nearby," the sheriff's office said.
