Koala rescued after escaping zoo enclosure to find love

(UPI) An Australian zoo said a young female koala escaped from her enclosure and ended up stranding herself atop a tree in her search for a mate.
The Australian Reptile Park in Somersby, New South Wales, said 2-year-old koala Irene was missing from her enclosure Wednesday morning.
"She had decided it was time to find a mate, but Koala Tinder doesn't exist so she took it upon herself to go searching!" the zoo said in a Facebook post.
The zoo said Irene's "Houdini-like escape" led to her becoming stranded at the top of a nearby tree.
The post included video of zoo staff using a lift to reach and rescue the lovelorn koala.
"Acting quickly, Tim Faulkner and keepers went to work to rescue Irene with a scissor lift surrounded by a crowd watching the rescue mission take place!" the post said.
