(UPI) Four kittens traveled about 1,000 miles from Poland to England after hitching a ride in the back of a delivery truck.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Northamptonshire Branch shared a photo of the kittens after their three day journey inside a cardboard box headed to a Dynamic Office Solutions depot.

"We immediately got some bedding, ran out for kitten food and called the RSPCA," David Orr of Dynamic Office Solutions told the BBC. There were lots of 'oohs' and 'ahhs,' and we'd love to keep them to keep vermin at bay, but they're too young and aren't streetwise enough yet.

Orr said the kittens managed to make their way inside the tiny box that was meant to be a "void-filler" when it left an office furniture factory in Zarow, Poland and traveled unchecked through Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, France and across the English Channel.

Once the "extra consignment" was delivered, RSPCA animal welfare manager Dawn Smith said the kittens were lucky to be alive after the lengthy trip.

"Our biggest concern right now is ensuring they pull through as at only two weeks old they're very young to be away from their mum," Smith said.

The kittens, who were named after ABBA members Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha and Anni-Frid "in true Eurovision style" are in foster care and will later be placed up for adoption.
