(UPI) A British teenager with aspirations to become a professional soccer player set a new world record for performing a well-known trick.
Tommy Boyd, 13, set the Guinness World Record for "fastest time to complete 10 Maradona seven football (soccer) tricks" at at Henley College in Henley-upon-Thames.
The trick, made popular by Argentina soccer star Diego Maradona, involves moving the ball between the two feet, knees, shoulders and head in sequence.
Boyd completed the trick 10 times in just 29.78 seconds, shattering the previous record of John Farnworth, an adult soccer trick expert, who set the record at 35.47 months earlier.
The teenager hopes his new place in the record book will help him fulfill his dream of a professional soccer career.
"I decided to break the Maradona world record because I'm passionate about my ambition to become a professional footballer," he said.
Boyd also dedicated his record-breaking performance to his late grandfather, who died of leukemia last year.
"Always strive for excellence in everything you do. Together we were amazing and I know that my granddad is so very proud," he said.
