VIDEO: Hammerhead shark tries to eat video camera in the Bahamas

GREAT BAHAMA, Bahamas (UPI) -- A visitor to the Bahamas captured footage of a hammerhead shark mistaking his GoPro for a tasty morsel and trying to eat the camera.
The video, posted to YouTube by user warrenlst, shows underwater footage of the hammerhead eating among a group of nurse sharks and other fish.
The shark, searching for food tossed into the water by humans, turns its attention to the camera and tries to snap it up in its jaws.
"The shark feeder managed to feed the first and second sharks, [but] he was too slow in taking out the food for the third one, so the hammerhead bolted straight for my camera, thinking it was also food," the filmer wrote online. Luckily, my GoPro was fitted inside a wide-angle lens dome which made it harder for the shark to snatch away.
