WASHINGTON (UPI) -- Pro-marijuana activists in Washington announced they will be handing out free marijuana cigarettes at the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.

DCMJ, described as a "community group fighting for equal rights for DC cannabis users, growers and their families," announced members will be distributing 4,200 joints at Dupont Circle in Washington Friday morning for The Inaugural #Trump420 event.

The group said the recipients of the "legally grown cannabis" will be asked to light up exactly four minutes and 20 seconds into Trump's inauguration speech.

"We legalized cannabis in Washington, DC and we are not going to let anyone take that away from us! This is an outreach opportunity to show President Trump's supporters we are the marijuana majority! Join us for smokin' fun time!" the Facebook event page reads.

The group cautioned participants could risk arrest, as the consumption of marijuana remains illegal in public places and on federal land, including the National Mall. It said participants are "engaging non-violent civil disobedience and may be arrested."

The group said it would cancel the smoking plans if "President Trump comes out now in support of full cannabis legalization in all 50 States and D.C.!"
