ASHLAND, Va. (UPI) -- A security camera was recording when a car stranded on the railroad tracks in Virginia was knocked out of the way by an oncoming train.

The video, uploaded by VirtualRailFan.com, shows the driver abandon his car on the tracks Sunday in Ashland after it became clear that the car was not going to budge.

Police arrived and notified railway officials about the potential danger to any oncoming trains, but a train was already nearby and was unable to stop.

The video shows the train strike the car, knocking it out of the way. No one was injured in the crash.

The train stopped and was able to continue on its way after about two hours. A tow truck was then able to remove the badly damaged car from the tracks.
