Texas police use Whataburger to rescue kitten from drain

KEMAH, Texas (UPI) -- Police in Texas used a tasty fast food treat to lure a small kitten who was trapped inside a storm drain.
Kemah Police Department shared photos as officers responded to a call about someone trapped in a storm drain to find a kitten instead.
Kemah police Sgt. Barmore and Officer Staton attempted to call the kitten toward them, and decided to offer a tantalizing snack to draw it out.
"They both got into opposite ends of the drain and crawled in to rescue the kitten," police said. After getting the kitten to notice a snack from Whataburger, the kitten was rescued.
Officers temporarily named the kitten "Chicken" and brought it to Galveston Animal Control where it will be prepared for adoption, according to Click 2 Houston.
"The line to adopt the kitten has already begun," police said. Sgt. Barmore and a few Whataburger employees will look to adopt the kitten if the owner is not found.
