British inventor builds homemade hover bike

LONDON (UPI) -- A British inventor constructed a metallic hover bike that uses propellers to allow it to float a few inches off of the ground.

YouTube user Colin Furze shared a video showing off his invention as he attempted to learn how to control it.

"Considering the amount of time I've spent on this and the fact this is my first EVER attempt at making anything that leaves the ground this is well and truly a job well done, it's easy to overlook the true scale of what takes to make something like this work at all," Furze wrote.

Unlike the grounded "hoverseat", Forze's bike was constructed without proper seating, breaks or a steering mechanism, as these items would have made it too heavy to lift off the ground.

Furze documented his struggle in learning how to control the vehicle, which saw the propeller break at least once.

The video was the finale of a four-part series in which Furze planned and constructed the floating vehicle.

Some of Furze's past experiments include an "Ejector Bed" and a giant farting butt.
