Onion publishes Biden 'autobiography'

WASHINGTON (UPI) -- The satirical newspaper The Onion is releasing an "autobiography" of U.S. Vice President Joe Biden, titled The President of Vice.

The Onion said the book, released Friday for $2.99 in the Kindle format, is written in the "Biden style" and the cover features a shirtless photo of the vice president washing his Trans Am on the lawn of the White House, USA Today reported Friday.

"Hombre, you've just done Uncle Joe a real solid buying this book," the book's forward reads. I ain't the kind of guy who forgets his debts. Next time we meet there's a tallboy of ice cold Beast on me. And if you're a lady, I know a few tricks to repay you with interest, if you catch my drift.

Chad Nackers, The Onion's sports editor and a lead Biden correspondent, told The New York Times the vice president has long been a favorite subject of his readers.

"He doesn't really hide behind this facade, whatsoever. He's real and raw, and he's relatable in that way. He says a lot of things that everybody else would want to say, and we would hope that someone in power would say," Nackers said of Biden's appeal.
