'Topless Maids' van offends residents

BURBANK, Calif. (UPI) -- A van advertising "Topless Maids for $99" in a California city is generating complaints from residents and business owners.
Drew Sugars, a spokesman for the city of Burbank, said officials have received several complaints about the pink van, which also bears a phone number for the business, KTLA-TV, Los Angeles, reported Thursday.
"Our City Council has directed the staff to look into if our laws need to be strengthened," Sugars said.
Some residents said they are not offended by the van's presence.
"It's not offensive language. It's not a curse word. It's not hate," one man told KTLA. It's simply saying, 'topless maid,' you know?
