BALDWIN, N.Y. (UPI) -- Animal control authorities in New York state said an alligator was found in a store parking lot one day after a similar animal was captured in the same place.
The Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals said the gator, which measured 3-to-4-feet-long, was found Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of a grocery store in Baldwin, a day after a 2-to-3-foot alligator was discovered in the same parking lot, WCBS-TV, New York, reported Thursday.
The SPCA offered a $1,000 reward after the first gator was found for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person who released the animal.
The alligators are being sent to a Florida animal sanctuary, authorities said.
