Ask Stacy for Sept. 29-30, 2018
DEAR STACY: Is Lady Gaga married? -- Nick
DEAR NICK: No, the "A Star Is Born" star is not a Mrs. She became engaged to her agent, Christian Carino, in summer of last year, but no news as to nuptials. Christian was with her at the "Star Is Born" premiere, where she gushed about how great it is to have someone you love who is there for you. True that! Earlier, the artist also known as Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta was engaged to "Chicago Fire" actor Taylor Kinney for five years. They split in 2016.
DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Tom Welling? How I loved him in "Smallville"! -- Cori
DEAR CORI: Welling had a role in the latest season of the fantasy-comedy-horror-police drama "Lucifer," which was canceled by Fox in May. The Tom Ellis-starrer was quickly picked up by Netflix for season four, which is set to premiere in 2019. However, it's highly doubtful Welling will continue with it, since his character arc was pretty much done. Welling's roles have been few and far between, partially by design and partially by fate. He appeared in three movies after "Smallville" left the air in 2011: "Parkland," with Zac Efron and Billy Bob Thornton; "Draft Day," with Kevin Costner; and theNicholas Sparks' romance, "The Choice." While each of the films gave him the opportunity to prove he could play characters different from Clark Kent, none was particularly successful. For a time, Welling didn't want to return to television, remembering the many 14-20 hour days he'd put into making "Smallville." But grueling schedules were a distant enough memory that by 2016 he had a pilot in the works for CBS called "Section 13," in which he would have played a CIA black ops officer, as well as serving as producer on the series. It was not picked up.
DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to the actress who played Daisy Duke on "Dukes of Hazzard"? -- Jen
DEAR NICK: Catherine Bach has mostly remained out of the spotlight -- except for "Dukes of Hazzard" conventions -- since her days as Daisy Duke. Once the show ended, she appeared in a few B-movies, but hasn't done much acting since her role in the TV series "African Skies" in the early 1990s. She was married to Angela Lansbury's son, David Shaw, from 1976-1981. She wed entertainment attorney Peter Lopez in 1990 and they had two daughters. Sadly, Lopez died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in 2010.
DEAR STACY: Thrilled to see the gorgeous Missy Peregrym of "Rookie Blue" back in a series with "FBI." Does that mean we will no longer see her in "Van Helsing"? - J.G.
DEAR J.G.: It certainly means that the Dick Wolf CBS show, "FBI," is her priority. But it is not out of the range of possibility that the Canadian actress might pop up in an episode on the horror series that shoots in Vancouver at some future time.Copyright 2018 Creators Syndicate Inc.
