Ask Stacy for April 14-15, 2018

Marilyn Beck and Stacy Jenel Smith on

DEAR STACY: My favorite "Saturday Night Live" character is shirtless Putin, Beck Bennett. I can't help wondering if he's ever heard any sort of response from his real-life counterpart. -- Shane M., New Port Richey, Florida

DEAR SHANE: Apparently not -- or if he has, he's keeping it to himself. Bennett has, however, speculated that the Russian leader might enjoy the parody. "We're taking the angle that he's a sneaky, confident guy who's controlling our president," Bennett told The Hollywood Reporter. Plus, Bennett is a good-looking man who's in good shape. What's not to like?

----

DEAR STACY: Samatha Bee is such a sharp critic of our politics in the U.S., but is she not Canadian? -- NTK

DEAR NTK: The Toronto-born star of "Full Frontal With Samantha Bee" became a United States citizen in 2014, and also retains her Canadian citizenship.

----

DEAR STACY: Is Dwayne Hickman still with us? Any update? -- Rose M., Chattanooga, Tennessee

DEAR ROSE: Now 83, the former actor, still fondly remembered by viewers of a certain age as teenager Dobie Gillis in the 1959-1963 "The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis," is retired. He logged numerous film and television credits, then went on to a very successful career behind the scenes as a television producer, director and CBS executive. Three times married, he is the father of two grown children.

----

DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to J.T. Walsh of "A Few Good Men" and "Slingblade" among other films? Excellent actor. -- Samsong

DEAR Samsong: Walsh died of a heart attack at age 54 in 1998. His final two films -- "Pleasantville" and "The Negotiator" -- were dedicated to him.
