DEAR STACY: Yara Shahidi is so beautiful. My boyfriend and I can't help but be curious about her ethnic background. How about some details? -- Yasmine S., Granada Hills, California
DEAR YASMINE: The 18-year-old actress who plays Zoey Johnson on "Black-ish" and the new "Grown-ish" is African American and Choctaw on her mother's side, and Iranian-American on her father's. She was born in Minnesota, moved to California with her family at age 4, and started working as an actress at age 6. (Hip-hop superstar Nas is her cousin.) Having deferred her entrance to Harvard while she's busy starring in her new hit show, she insists she will, at some point in the not too distant future, put her acting career on hold to complete her education, majoring in social studies. Hollywood, she points out, is not going anywhere.
DEAR STACY: Love the Samsung commercial they've been playing during the Olympics, with kids trying, failing and trying again until they succeed. Can you tell me what the music is on that commercial? -- Mike M., Fresno, California
DEAR MIKE: You're referring to The Killers' 2004 song, "All These Things That I've Done" from the band's "Hot Fuss" album.

DEAR STACY: When is the sequel to "The Incredibles" going to come out? -- DavidC
DEAR DavidC: The release date for the long-awaited Pixar flick is June 15. Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter and Samuel L. Jackson again voice the roles of Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl and Frozone, respectively.
DEAR STACY: Can you give an update on Jimmy Kimmel's son and his health? -- GH13
DEAR GH13: "Billy's great," said Kimmel's wife, Molly McNearney, when she and Jimmy visited Anna Faris' "Unqualified" podcast recently. The 10-month-old, who was born with a heart defect, underwent a second successful heart surgery in December. "He'll have one more when he's older. It was tough," McNearney admitted. However, she noted that Billy had his surgery on a Monday and was home by the following Friday. "Kids are so resilient." The Kimmels also have a 3-year-old daughter, Jane. And Jimmy, who has become an outspoken advocate for health care for children of low-income families, also has a grown son and daughter.Copyright 2018 Creators Syndicate Inc.
