DEAR STACY: Sterling K. Brown is the best actor to come along in quite a while, in my opinion. I would like a few facts about him. Age? Marital status? Children? Other credits besides "This is Us" and "The People vs. O.J. Simpson"? Thank you. -- Alicia C., Moorpark, California
DEAR ALICIA: The 41-year-old, two-time Emmy-winning actor has been married for 10 years to his college sweetheart, actress Ryan Michelle Bathe. They're both Stanford graduates who went on to earn MFAs at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. They have two sons. Brown is also remembered for his role as Roland Burton in the series "Army Wives" and numerous other episodic TV series ("Supernatural," "Starved," "Third Watch"), as well as features ("Stay," "Marshall") and theater work. The very hot talent has three movies in the pipeline, too. He has a role in the Disney/Marvel Feb. 16 release superhero picture, "Black Panther"; he is in "The Predator," the fourth installment in the sci-fi-action-horror franchise due Aug. 3; and he's in the forthcoming Jodie Foster thriller, "Hotel Artemis."
DEAR STACY: Where is Simon Baker of "The Mentalist" these days? Miss seeing him. -- Laala
DEAR Laala: After living in the U.S. for nearly two decades, the Aussie star returned Down Under to direct his first feature film, "Breath," based on Tim Winton's best-selling novel that's set in mid-70s Australia. Unveiled at the Toronto Film Festival in September, the feature drew enthusiastic response and Baker wants to spend more time behind the camera. He also stars in "Breath," playing an adventurer who pushes two teenage boys (Samson Coulter and Ben Spence) to take risks in the tale that also stars Elizabeth Debicki, Richard Roxburgh and Rachael Blake. It's set for Australia release in May. Stay tuned for U.S. distribution news. Meanwhile, Baker is set for "Best Day of My Life," a musical drama-comedy with Renee Zellweger, Sarah Jessica Parker and Common.
DEAR STACY: What happened to the remake of "Soylent Green" that was supposedly going to happen by now? -- GregF18
DEAR GREGF18: Not much. The director of "Blade: Trinity," David Goyer, was poised to make a follow-up to the iconic 1973 dystopian sci-fi thriller that starred Charleton Heston and Edward G. Robinson. He was quoted saying the new film would pick up where the old one left off. But that was years ago, and the project appears to have stalled.
DEAR STACY: Please settle a bet. Who was married more times, Larry King or the late Elizabeth Taylor? -- George B., Fresno California
DEAR GEORGE: Taylor. She had seven husbands and eight marriages in all, having wed Richard Burton, divorced him and remarried him later. King has had six wives, including current spouse of 20 years, Shawn Southwick, plus three long-term companions.Copyright 2017 Creators Syndicate Inc.
