White to Play and Win

In keeping with our theme, here's another "edge of disaster" position. White's lineup on the g-file is quite impressive. It had better be as Black's attack on c2 is a real live mate threat. Black seems amply defended on g8, so you had better come up with something really imaginative! Kheesom did against Keiseveutter in 1958.

Solution:

The prettiest line, leading to mate, is 1.Rc5 Qxc5 2.Rxh7+ Kxh7 3.Qg7# --a fine example of interference, very similar to our last problem even though a different piece is doing it, and line clearance—the rook gets out of the way for the queen to go to g7. Black can five up lots of material to avoid mate, but what would be the point?
