The key to the defense, or counterattack, is that the White queen is doing double duty in attacking and defending. It’s hard to do both. 1...Qh5 2.Qg3 Qxh3 3.gxh3 Rxe1+ 4.Qxe1 Bf2 5.Qxf2 e1=Q+ 6.Qxe1 Rxe1+ and wins as follows 6.Kg2 (or 6.Qxe1 Rxe1+ 7.Kg2 Re2+ and the rook vacuums up the queenside pawns) 6...Re2 and wins.
