The last entry in our theme week of the Lucena smothered mate move, and this one is a doozy from an actual game. It shows you just how complicated a simple theme can get.

This is taken from a game V. Tietz vs May, Vienna, 1912 1.Nxe4 Ncxe4 2.Rxe4 Nxe4 3.Rxe4 Qxe4 4.Ng5!! Qg6 4...Qxh4 5.Nf7# 5.Qxh7+ Qxh7 6.Nf7# The compositions this week were from an article written by my late chess acquaintance—and wonderful chess author—Walter Korn.
