The knight is not only the forbidden fruit for the king, but also in some lines the fatal blow. 1.Ne5+ Ke3 1...Kxe5 2.Qh2+; 1...Kf5 2.Qh3+ Ke4 3.Qf3+ Kd4 4.Nc6+ 2.Qe1+ Kf4 3.Qf2+ Kg5 4.Qg3+ Kf5 5.Qg4+ Whether Black takes the knight or just moves away, he loses the queen.
