The secret to the position is that the white king is within the queening square and can stop the black pawn with ease. The black king, however, is hampered by the c6 pawn and can’t go around in time to prevent being a pawn down. Thus, White can push the pawn up—two pawns abreast of two pawns—just like the last puzzle 1.b4 bxa4 2.bxa5 a3 3.Kc2 c5 the “go around” doesn’t work-3…Kd6 4.g5 Kc7 5.Kb3 Kb7 6.Kxa3 Ka6 7.Kb4 4.a6 Kc6 5.d5+ Kb6 6.d6 and Black can’t stop them both.
