White to Play

I just love playing over Evans Gambit games. You have to be a real chess pirate to play it, but sometimes even a Kasparov or Short will play it. The Lasker Defense almost put it out of commission. Today’s game demonstrates Black play the first ten moves perfectly only to err on move eleven, and White jumped on the opportunity. The game Hasek,Josef - Tereba,R [C52]Kautsky Memorial–05 1928/29 Prague, 1928 started out 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Bc5 3.b4 Bxb4 4.c3 Ba5 5.Nf3 Nc6 6.0–0 d6 7.d4 Bb6 8.dxe5 dxe5 9.Qb3 Qf6 10.Bg5 Qg6 11.Bd5 and now Black erred with 11…Na5 [The proper defense was 11...f6!]and now what did White play? SEE DIAGRAM

White played the astonishing 12.Nxe5 Qxg5 Black would be at a disadvantage after 12...Nxb3 13.Nxg6 Nxa1 14.Nxh8 f6 15.Bc1! Kf8 16.Ba3+ Ne7 17.Rc1. 13.Bc6+ Ke7 14.Qxf7+ Kd6 15.Rd1+ Black Resigned He can only throw pieces in the way of the check, but it will be mate soon.
