Baron von Kolisch was a fine attacking player, but here Hirschfeld makes him run a mating gauntlet that takes the black king to c4 and then to f4 for the final mate. It’s quite a show. We don’t normally look at something this long, but you have to try one of these sometime—and it’s checks all the way! Imagine figuring this out over the board!
