1. Kd6 Kf8 2. f7 A king move transposes back into the main line. 2. Ke6 Ke8 3. f7+ Kf8 4. Kd6 Kxf7 5. Kd7 2... Kxf7 3. Kd7 Kf8 4. Ke6 Kg7 5. Ke7 Kh8 6. Kf7 Kh7 7. Kf6 Kh8 8. Kxg6 Kg8 9. Kh6 You can mess this up if you move to the wrong square: 9. Kf6 ?? Kh7 10. Kf7 (10. g6+ Kh8 11. g7+ Kg8 12. Kg6 stalemate.) 10... Kh8 11. g6 stalemate. 9... Kh8 10. g6 Kg8 11. g7 and the pawn will queen with mate to follow. That pawn sacrifice to gain the opposition is worth remembering.
