We haven’t done this in a while—an opening puzzle! Here, White is playing an aggressive line against the Gurgenidze System in the Modern Defense. What would your move be now that you have sacrificed your pawn?


The game started out with 1.e4 g6 2.d4 Bg7 3.Nc3 c6 4.Bc4 e6 5.e5 d5 6.exd6 Qxd6 7.Ne4 Qxd4 and now 8.Nd6+ is the right move! What should happen next is tomorrow’s puzzle.
