An endgame puzzle. How does White win this?


Solution:

1.Be6 Rd1 2.h5 Kh7 [2...Rd2 3.Kf8 Rf2+ 4.Kg8 Rg2+ 5.Kh8] 3.h6 Rd2 4.Bf5+ Kxh6 5.Kf7 Re2 6.Be6 However, this doesn’t win: 1.Kf7 Re1 2.Be6 Rf1+ 3.Kg8 Rg1+ 4.Kh8 Rg7 5.e8Q Rh7+ 6.Kg8 Rg7+ 7.Kf8 Rg8+ 8.Kxg8 Stalemate!
