This is a game won by Sir George Thomas against Sapira in 1932. Black’s last move was Nxc3, which was a mistake. How do you take advantage of it?

Solution:

The game started out 1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nc3 d5 4.exd5 Nxd5 5.Bb5+ Bd7 6.Ne5 Nxc3? (see diagram) [ Black would have been a little worse after 6...Bxb5 7.Qf3 f6 8.Nxb5 fxe5 9.Qxd5 Qxd5 10.Nc7+ Kf7 11.Nxd5] 7.Qf3! f6 [White still wins after 7...Qc7 8.Bxd7+ Nxd7 9.Qxf7+ Kd8 10.Nxd7 Qxd7 11.dxc3 e6 12.Bg5+ Kc8 13.Qh5 Bd6 14.0–0–0] 8.Qh5+ g6 9.Nxg6 Kf7 10.Ne5+! Black Resigned as after 10...Ke6 11.Bc4+ Kd6 12.Nf7+ wins the queen.
